Karen Marsden
Has 13 years experience as a safety professional. She holds IOSH
qualifications and is an Honours graduate in Physics, holds a Post Graduate
Diploma in Radiological Protection and a PGCE in Secondary Science. Her
experiences span consultancy and training assignments in a variety industries
including work for the Ministry of Defence. She produces fully documented safety
management systems and is a qualified noise and fire risk assessor with current
extensive experience in the hotel and hospitality industries. She brings this
wide range of practical experiences to her teaching on the General
Certificate, IOSH and CIEH courses.
Pat Taylor
Professionally qualified through IOSH she is a Member of the
International Institute of Safety and Health and holds a CIEH Professional
Trainer Certificate. Her 15 years as a safety practitioner has included
extensive experience of the engineering, printing and print finishing, wood
working, and warehousing, manufacturing and automotive industries. She has
particular skills in fire risk assessment, noise and the management of road
risk. She is an accomplished trainer delivering IOSH and CIEH accredited
courses which benefit greatly from her ongoing practical involvement in the
management of workplace safety.
David Bryan
A former army officer and professionally qualified safety practitioner and
trainer. He is a Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health
(MIOSH) and holder of the C & G 7307 Teaching Certificate. He is experienced in
the automotive and air operations fields and teaches on the General
Certificate, IOSH Managing Safely and CIEH courses.
Rob Forward
A former Royal Marine with a wide range of training experiences at home and abroad.
IOSH qualified, he has mentored the health and safety capability of Afghan
National Army personnel and been responsible for the health and safety management of
camps within Helmund Province. This involved the production of risk
assessments and the implementation of safe working practices in high risk
areas. He holds
qualifications in First Aid at Work, is a Radiation Protection Supervisor and, as a
qualified fire risk assessor, he has carried out assessments and provided guidance
for a national retail chain.
Richard Shepherd
Richard has been established as a Health and Safety Consultant for seven years. He is
qualified and is a Technician Safety Practitioner Member of the Institution of
Occupational Safety and Heath (IOSH). He has wide experience of producing health and
safety policies, risk assessments and COSHH assessments, providing training and general
health and safety advice for a wide range of clients. These include machinery manufacturers,
garages, tyre dealers and aviation (airfields).
Richard is also a farmer and as such has taken on a specialist role in the Agricultural
sector including Farms and Estates as well as associated industries such as agricultural
engineers, plant hire, drainage boards and contractors. He is a registered trainer with
Land Based Training (LANTRA).
Tom Davey
Tom has 40 years in the hospitality industry working in hotels, schools, hospitals and restaurants.
He has been a tenant of a Public House and restaurant and worked in outside catering. He brings
this wealth of practical experience to RSM coupled with 24 years as a chef lecturer having taken
students on national competitions and work experience at venues including Royal Ascot and Glorious Goodwood. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH) and an Affiliated Member
of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH). Tom delivers the CIEH range of food
hygiene courses.
